The Art of Living: Restart, Re-look, Reset
Life could be overwhelming sometimes. The debate of whether life is fair or not is still hot water. Natural circumstances like birth have one of life's misunderstood concepts. To be born poor or rich is an unavoidable destiny. But to die poor or affluent is a fate controlled by humanity. Privileges are always part of your future narrative. These prerogative entitlements could also trick anyone because any advantage a person has is also governed by one's fate, not destiny. Hence, your decisions are what drive your fate.
To be precise, destiny and fate are two different things. Your destiny is inevitable. On a road trip, you will travel from one place to another. You have no choice but to drive your way. On the other hand, fate is the output of your decisions. Your fate changes depending on what choice you would make. On a road trip, if the places you travel are destiny, then fate is the variety of routes you can take to drive your way!
But like any road trip, bumps and humps are inescapable. There are events in our life that would push us to just take a U-turn and neglect the chance to pursue excellence. When life never goes the way you wanted it to be and the road becomes darker and darker, we tend to let go of the steering wheel of purpose! We often forget the reason why we started in the first place!
Fortunately, there's a way to catch up on your own journey! Have you watched the official music video of the song The Scientist by Coldplay? Watch here while reading the rest of the article. Some called it reversed storytelling. Unlike common story pacing, the music video starts from the present then flashbacks are retold. Then at the end of the music video, we finally closed the circle and fully understood the story.

RE-LOOK
"Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard"
In movies, most villains are raised from violence and abuse. At a very young age, they learned that the world is cruel and life is unfair. Therefore most villains aren't born, they are made.
That is why the best character development usually happens with villains. In some stories,
people favor the villain because they depict a more humanly attitude that portrays angst and vengeance. But at the same time, has the courage to relook life from a brighter perspective.
RESET
"Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
I'm going back to the start."
One thing that also amazed me from the music video is the symbolism it portrays. The music video has Chris Martin walk backward. It represents going back to the past. But on a deeper level, he represents our mindset. We should go back to the past not to repeat history, but to look deeply at what happened.
Fortunately, you could make this happen. Just remember that the art of life is not about seeking perfection and living with happiness. The art of life is the acknowledgment of the past while looking forward to the future, aiming for a better story to happen. Therefore, carved into your heart that if all else fails, restart, relook and reset.
And don't forget this reminder you can always try again and again!
