The emotional and mental support given to us by our four babies is priceless and nothing can replace the happiness they can give to us. Without verbal communication, their simple actions done with utmost innocence and unconsciousness makes our day! Our pets are indeed our pride and joy. And as our fur parents, I know how much we wished to bring our pets whenever we go out! From quick grocery shopping to week-long camping in the woods! As they say, days well spent with loved ones are more than diamonds and gold! These are THEE memories! But just like bringing an extra buddy, comes at a cost! From the travel to a whole new place, the sudden trip, change of weather condition and even meeting new people could scare our kids! Here are some tips you should know before bringing one of your fur babies!

1. Expect the unexpected. We all know that our pets are very moody and often time throw tantrums. Expect that you will encounter delays - like a LOT of them! From your scheduled trips, planned visits, or reservations! Always have a Plan B just in case Plan A won't work. But for real, every time you go out, prepare Plan B to Z!

2. Prep them as much as you do! If you plan trips months before the actual date, you should also take a lot of time preparing your pets! Remember, animals are more sensitive than humans. Sudden shock

could cause trauma to them and that is the last thing we wanted them to experience! Preparation includes a consultation with veterinarians. Preparing the necessary emergency medicines and prescriptions is also important since you couldn't bring your pet to the nearest vet when you are stuck in the middle of the woods!

3. FOODS. That's it. Foods. To be more specific. Prepare a lot of food! Our fur babies are many picky eaters than us so if you are planning for a week-long vacation, bring your pets their goodies because we wouldn't want to take risk of them not eating! My cats personally only prefer one cat food brand and if it is not the brand they grew up with, they won't eat it! And I mean, who am I to deprive them right?

4. Bring a carrier. Even if your pet is used to walking side-by-side with you always, bringing a carrier is still advisable. They might get used to the suburbs you live in, the park you always visit, or familiar with the streets around the neighborhoods, but a new place still needs another adjustment! But take note of this! Do not bring a NEW one! If it is your first time using a carrier, make sure your pet is used to it! And mind you, it took a lot of time before our pets get used to the carrier! Most of them doesn't even like leash! S if you have an old one, just fix the loose threads and you are good to go! If you haven't used it for a while, prep your pets weeks before your travel!

5. Prepare the correct and proper documents! When we say prepare this paperwork, we meant to have more than one hard copy and soft copy! Put them in a sealed envelope and place them inside your backpack for easy access! If you are planning an out of town, check the necessary pet

identification requirements for different states you will pass through or visit. If you are planning for an out-of-country, ask the embassy or any personnel, or check the country's tourist website to check the requirements for bringing pets abroad! Even for airlines! Most have strict guidelines. From breed to height and weight, and of course age! Most airlines are very meticulous in carrying pets on board so make sure to consult all agencies, services, and places involved before bringing your fur kids on a trip!

Traveling with our fur babies might sound like a luxury and often before, I thought it was only possible if I own a private jet or rent an RV! Though renting an RV is convenient for group trips! But I always wanted to travel with only one of my cats! Experience new things together, visit new spots, and take a lot of pictures! But nothing is impossible for a wanderlust-hearted fur parent! With proper preparation, full knowledge, and understanding of your pet's conditions, traveling with them is possible! Not easy but worth it!
